The 2024 Corolla petrol range gives buyers two engine choices. The 1.5L Pioneer uses Toyota’s M15B Dynamic Force three-cylinder: 89 kW (121 PS), 148 N·m and the lowest petrol consumption in the line-up at 5.41 L/100 km WLTC, with a torsion-beam rear axle and 47-litre tank that keep it simple for rough roads and basic workshops. The 1.2T Pioneer and Elite use the 1.2-litre turbo (85 kW, 185 N·m from 1,500 rpm) with double-wishbone rear suspension, a 50-litre tank and 5.88 L/100 km. Both 1.2T trims carry a driver’s knee airbag. All three share the 4,635 mm body, CVT and Toyota Safety Sense. Pick the 1.5L for the lowest running cost, the 1.2T for stronger low-speed pull when fully loaded.
